Life

Being afraid of living makes even less sense than fear of dying- which is inevitable. Therefore, what is there to be afraid of?

The shortest story of all is life.

Settling for anything which you are not truly satisfied with will result in a tremendous sense of dissatisfaction.

Just like Radiohead sing, I need to stop whispering, and start shouting- I’ve been whispering all my life.

The only true DEADline is in life. You can’t finish accomplishing your dreams once you have crossed that deadline.

If time is not content with standing still, neither should you be.

Always make sure you have some balance in the work/life balance.

We are conditioned to change our socks and underpants on a daily basis, and yet are very hesitant to make any fundamental life changes. If we were so reluctant to change our pants and socks, we’d be labelled “unhygienic”.

Working is part of what you do in life; it should not be the only thing.

Effective working is all about prioritising, but make sure you prioritise life ahead of work.

Those whose only focus is upon buying new shoes have forgotten that they only have two feet.

If you’re not living, then in all honestly you might as well be dead.

If there were no hurdles to overcome,  there would be less Olympic events.

A new chapter in your life is an opportunity for the plot to change.

When it comes to your eulogy, do you really want “watched lots of TV” and “played computer games” to be the key points?

If I died tomorrow, I want to know that I made the most of my last day on earth.

The 5,000m and 100m hurdles are two very challenging races, but both exist in harmony and enhance the Olympics.

Whilst most things that we use nowadays can be recycled, and eventually reused, time cannot.

It’s a good thing that life is not pre-determined and predictable. A unique painting is more rewarding than a generic paint-by-numbers equivalent.

Just because you are breathing it does not mean you are living.

If you can’t accept yourself, how can anyone else be expected to?

You can’t always make the right choice; otherwise there would be no mistakes to learn from.

Hospitals are a place where life and death progress simultaneously.

Horoscopes are a load of crap…. No one knows what life will bring, and besides there are infinitely more than 12 possible different outcomes each day.

Time is finite, and yet the number of ways in which we choose to waste it are infinite.

If life is too short, should we make it stand on stilts or wear high heels?!

Every moment only lasts for a moment.

Sky+ is just a TV phenomenon- you can’t pause or rewind life.

They publicise offers in the supermarket- “when it’s gone, it’s gone”. The same goes for life.

Whilst it’s fine for technology to enrich our life, it should never rule our life.

Sleep is nature’s way of punctuating one day from the next. Just as a paragraph makes little sense without enough punctuation, it’s difficult to understand much without sufficient sleep… Ps my psyche interrupted my sleep to provide me with that gem.

Tiredness breeds laziness.

Being tired is very tiring.

If something is too much effort for you, then you clearly don’t want it enough.

The easy option is rarely the best choice.

Never turn back; turn forward.

It’s better to live than to exist.

When the one person who you want to hear utter the words “I’m proud of you” isn’t around to say them, you have to do everything in your power to ensure they are up there thinking them.

Life is not a video game- it cannot be restarted when the going gets tough.

If there’s “no time to waste”, how do I manage to under-utilise mine to such a massive extent?

Life is a matter of life and death.

When life is difficult we say it’s “hard”. When it becomes easier, should we describe it as “soft”?!

We waste our life viewing in the media an unrealistic version of life. By focusing too much on other people’s lives we lose track of our own.

You are not a cat- you only have one life….use it wisely.

If you’re not going to make the most of your life, what was the point in being born?

Don’t make do with your situation, make the most of it.

Every second that passes is non-refundable- use it wisely!

What will be, will be? Yes, unless you take control of your life, you are leaving everything to chance.

You should approach every day for what it is- potentially the best day of your life.

It’s important to look forward; after all you don’t have eyes in the back of your head.

Tears are acceptable. After all, drought is considered to be a negative.

Great people inspire me to want to be great. Mediocre people inspire me to want to not be mediocre. OR Great people inspire me to want to be great. Mediocre people inspire me to want to be great.

If life deals you a poor hand, re-shuffle the deck.

It’s not up to you to judge yourself.

What’s more rewarding- a home cooked meal, or a ready meal? If something is given to you on a plate it means less than something you’ve worked for. You need to work for your dreams.

Although there is no time like the present, time is the most precious of all presents.

There’s a danger that life becomes so virtual, that we virtually forget to live.

What’s more important, photographic records or actual memories? Life through a lens can often be so focused on getting the perfect image, that you miss out on the perfect event.

How long can a car keep going with the wrong fuel and a dead battery? Why do we assume our minds and body are any different?

We need to feed the brain, not just the gut.

The autopilot approach to life works providing all goes to plan- which it rarely does.  It situations where it doesn’t, you need to be a skilled pilot to manoeuvre yourself back on course.

Don’t spend your time focusing on the past or the future- the only period we can currently impact upon is the present.

What irrelevant people think of you is in turn irrelevant.

Like time, you should never sit still.
